‘No TRUE Scotsman …’ Award: Immigration Minister Dutton joins the contest

We have another entrant competing for the Tony Abbott Memorial ‘No True Scotsman …’ Award for 2015.

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton came in with this pearler yesterday, when discussing new legislation concerning Australia’s borders and border protection:

‘It will not restrict anyone’s ability to raise genuine concerns about conditions in detention should they wish to do so through appropriate channels,’ Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said, referring to public interest disclosure laws.

With Minister Dutton, and his successors, defining what a ‘genuine’ concern is, no doubt.

See you at the Awards ceremony, Minister.
